5 common questions answered
NHTSA recall information identifies two safety concerns associated with the 2018 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. The Air Bag campaign involves a front passenger air bag that may have an improperly sewn seam. If the seam tears during deployment, air bag performance may decrease and injury risk may increase. The Emergency Call eCall campaign involves communication-module software that may transmit an incorrect vehicle location after a crash, potentially sending responders to the wrong place. Waiting can leave an unresolved safety concern in the vehicle. A free VIN check identifies whether either campaign applies, and the manufacturer remedy is performed at no charge when the vehicle is eligible.
